Check-in from Anywhere
Overview
Check-in from Anywhere is a schedule-level setting that allows auditors to check in from any location, bypassing the site’s geo-fencing radius for that specific schedule.
It is designed for checklists completed by HQ, office staff, or remote teams who are never physically present at the site — for example, HR compliance reviews, administrative audits, or financial audits conducted remotely.
Note: This setting requires the feature to be enabled for your organisation. Contact your Nimbly account team if you don’t see it in your schedule settings.
When to Use It
Use Check-in from Anywhere when:
- A checklist must be completed by someone who works remotely or at a different office
- The auditor is never physically at the site (e.g., HQ-run compliance checks)
- You want to allow remote audits without disabling geo-fencing for all other schedules at that site
Do not use it as a blanket workaround for location-sensitive audits where physical presence matters.
How It Works
When Check-in from Anywhere is enabled on a schedule:
- Auditors can check in from any location — no GPS validation is performed
- The site’s configured geo-fencing radius is not changed — it still applies to every other schedule at the same site
- All other schedules at the site continue to enforce geo-fencing as normal
This gives you granular, per-schedule control rather than a site-wide or organisation-wide decision.
What Is Not Affected
- Team audits and section check-ins always enforce geo-fencing, regardless of this setting
- The site’s geo-fencing configuration is preserved — only the specific schedule bypasses it
Enabling It in the Schedule Editor
The toggle appears in the Advanced Configurations section of the Schedule Editor, alongside other settings like Enforce Check-in and Enforce Check-out.
- Navigate to Sites → [Site Name] → Report Schedule
- Select or create a schedule
- Expand Advanced Configurations
- Toggle Check-in from Anywhere to
ON - Confirm the prompt — auditors will be able to check in from any location for this schedule
- Click Save
Disabling the toggle does not require confirmation.
Enabling It via Bulk Upload
If you manage schedules via Excel bulk upload, the “Skip Geofencing” column (column W in the Schedules sheet) controls this setting.

Existing Schedules
Schedules created before this feature was introduced default to geo-fencing enforced (No). No action is needed — existing behaviour is preserved automatically.
